Scholarships And Jobs In The United Kingdom For Filipino Professionals
An international consultancy office is now offering Filipino professionals scholarship and job opportunities in the United Kingdom. International Student Advisors (ISA) 4U Ltd. is giving free orientation sessions and information to professionals who are in the fields of engineering, information technology, accounting, hotel and restaurant management, and business administration. Under the program being introduced by the ISA, the students will be able to study in the UK and work full time (40 hours a week) with an income of P600-P800 per hour, earning an estimated P1.2 to P1.6 million a year. The consultancy firm said that at the end of the course, participants are expected to gain internationally recognized foundation degrees, masters in business administration, or first line management courses. It also said that the work experience gained during their stay will help with the UK points-based immigration requirements, should the student decide to permanently work or reside in Britain. This would enable them to bring their spouses to work and their children under the age of 18 to attend free schooling in the UK as long as the course exceeds one year. Since it started as a Study and Work Program for Filipino health care professionals in 2007, ISA has sent more than 500 nurses and caregivers to various colleges and universities in the UK. Most of them were enrolled in British BSc(Hon) degrees in Social and Health Care, International Nursing, and FLM courses. ISA has international offices in the UK and Hong Kong while there are provincial offices in Cebu, Davao, Zamboanga, Baguio, Iloilo, San Fernando, La Union, and Bantay, Ilocos Sur. Those interested in pursuing affordable studies and a possible future career in the UK may apply at their Makati office (with telephone number 899-0557) or at their provincial branches. More information may be found on the ISA web site www.internationalstudentadvisors.com or you may e-mail them at info@internationalstudentadvisors.com.
